Planned phase: separation and atmospheric entry

The capsule must separate from the service module before it passes through Earth's atmosphere as the returning vehicle.

The heat shield and capsule attitude are essential during entry. Capsule thrusters provide three-axis control after service-module separation until parachute deployment. The ground separation tests reported in October 2026 address an important interface in this intended sequence.
