Briefly and without legalese: what this site measures, what needs your consent, and how to take it back at any time.
WHO RUNS THIS SITE
Spaceflightpedia is a non-profit encyclopedia run by Jan Kučera as a one-person project. Contact: sharkjohnycze@gmail.com. The site is hosted by Roští.cz, whose servers process ordinary operational logs (IP address, request time, browser type) needed to run and secure the service.
TRAFFIC MEASUREMENT
We use Google Analytics 4 to learn which entries people read and what is worth writing next. Measurement runs under Google Consent Mode v2 with the default set to “denied”.
Without your consent no analytics cookies are stored — only an anonymous, cookieless signal with no identifier is sent, from which Google derives aggregate estimates. You cannot be identified as an individual from it.
Only after consent does Google Analytics set cookies (`_ga`, `_ga_*`) and measurement becomes complete. The data is used in aggregate only; we do not link it to your account and we do not sell it.
ADVERTISING
Running the site and producing the content is paid for by reader contributions and by advertising. Where ads appear, they are served by Google AdSense.
Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads. Personalised advertising is not shown without your consent — advertising consent defaults to denied and is never obtained automatically.
How Google handles data from partner sites is described in “How Google uses information from sites that use our services”. You can change your ad preferences at any time in your Google account ad settings.
CONSENT AND WITHDRAWAL
Consent is voluntary and revocable. Withdrawing it is as easy as giving it — use the “Privacy settings” link in the footer of any page.
Your decision is stored locally in your browser (the `sfp-consent` entry) so the banner does not ask on every visit. It is not a cookie and is never transmitted.
ACCOUNTS AND EDIT PROPOSALS
If you create an account we store your email, the name you choose, and your role. These are used for signing in and for attributing proposed edits.
Edit proposals form part of the encyclopedia’s editorial history and stay with the article after approval.
YOUR RIGHTS
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct or erase it, restrict processing and object to it. Write to sharkjohnycze@gmail.com and we will get back to you.
