Content licence and media provenance

All encyclopedia text is available under CC-BY-SA (Creative Commons Attribution–ShareAlike). You may share and adapt it, provided you credit Spaceflightpedia and keep the same licence on derivative works.

Every media item carries its own licence and attribution — both are shown directly in the image viewer for each plate. Only licences compatible with commercial reuse and ShareAlike are accepted; non-commercial (NC) and no-derivatives (ND) licences are rejected at import.

AI illustrations are visibly marked with ✦ throughout the encyclopedia and are never passed off as photographs. Archival photographs carry the ◉ mark. Each image’s origin, licence, and source can be shown in the viewer.

The CC BY-SA licence covers the texts and the media marked as such on each item. It does not cover advertising: ad units are served by Google AdSense and Ezoic, are visibly separated from the entries, and are not part of the encyclopedia’s content or its licence.

Advertisers have no influence over topic selection, wording or the editorial standard. Traffic is measured with Google Analytics 4 in Consent Mode; what is measured and how to withdraw consent is described on the Privacy and cookies page.
