The end of a thirty-year era
After leaving the ISS, Atlantis descended to a Kennedy Space Center runway, ending the Space Shuttle program.
The 13:57 UTC landing was the final landing by an American orbiter.
Atlantis later became a museum exhibit; the fleet was distributed among museums across the United States.
