Albania will add its name to the Artemis Accords on Monday, Sept. 21, becoming the 73rd nation to endorse the framework. NASA says the ceremony begins at 12 p.m. EDT at the agency's Washington headquarters.
NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson will host the event. Albania's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, is due to attend alongside the country's ambassador to the United States.
The Accords set out shared principles for civil space activity — transparency, interoperability, emergency assistance, registration of objects, release of scientific data, and avoidance of harmful interference — building on the Outer Space Treaty. NASA has opened the ceremony to media accreditation.
